Electric current is the flow of charge around a circuit. In a series circuit there is one path; in a parallel circuit there are several paths.
A magnet has a north and a south pole; like poles repel, unlike poles attract. Passing current through a coil of wire makes an electromagnet, which can be switched on and off.
