Organic Chemistry is the chemistry of carbon compounds.
Hydrocarbons contain only carbon and hydrogen. Alkanes (like methane) have only single bonds; alkenes have a carbon–carbon double bond. Crude oil is separated by fractional distillation, and many small molecules can join to form a polymer.
