Where money comes from
People get money by working. We should use money wisely and save some for later.
Key idea
Saving means keeping some money to use another day. We can keep it safe in a piggy bank or a bank.
Needs and wants
- Needs: things we must have, like food and water.
- Wants: things that are nice to have, like a new toy.
When we save, we can buy something bigger later, or keep money for a rainy day. A little bit each day adds up.
Worked example
Aina saves RM1 every day. How much does she save in 3 days?
RM1 + RM1 + RM1 = RM3.
Ben has RM2 and gets RM3 more. How much can he save?
RM2 + RM3 = RM5.
Remember
- Save a little often — it grows!
- Buy needs first, then wants.
- Keep your savings in a safe place.
