Time word problems
A time word problem is a little story about time. Read it slowly and picture the clock in your mind.

Take four small steps: 1) read, 2) think about the clock, 3) find the answer, 4) check it.

Worked example
Ali wakes up at 7 o'clock. Where is the short hand? At an o'clock, the short hand points to the hour, so it points to 7. The long hand points to 12.
Remember
- Morning comes first, then night.
- The long hand moves faster than the short hand.
- One hour after 3 o'clock is 4 o'clock.
