Writing numbers
We can write a number as a numeral (like 3) or as a word (like three). Both are correct.
Key idea
1 one, 2 two, 3 three, 4 four, 5 five, 6 six, 7 seven, 8 eight, 9 nine, 10 ten.
Two-digit numbers
Bigger numbers use two digits. Twenty is 20. Thirty is 30. Fifty is 50.
Worked example
Write "eleven" as a numeral. Eleven means 10 and 1 more, so we write 11.
