Saving money
Saving means keeping some money instead of spending it all. We can save in a money box at home or in a bank. When we save a little often, it slowly adds up to a lot.
Key idea
Total saved = amount each week × number of weeks.
A worked example
Worked example
Mei saves RM2 every week. How much has she saved after 4 weeks?
Multiply the weekly amount by the weeks: RM2 × 4 = RM8. Mei has saved RM8.
Investment
Investment means using money to help it grow, such as keeping it safely in a bank. Wise saving today helps us buy the things we will need later. Even saving one small coin each day is a good start, because a little money kept every day soon becomes a large amount.
Remember
- Save first, spend later.
- Keep money in a safe place.
- Small savings grow big over time.
