What is a building set?
A building set has many parts like blocks, sticks, wheels and connectors. We can join these parts to build a model, such as a house, a car or a robot. Making models helps us plan and use our hands.
Following a plan
Before we build, it is good to have a plan. A plan is a drawing or a set of steps that shows what to make and how. When we follow the plan step by step, our model comes out right and strong.
- Look at the plan first.
- Find the parts you need.
- Join the parts one step at a time.
- Check that each part fits well.

Testing our model
When the model is done, we test it. If a car model has wheels, we roll it to see if it moves. If a part falls off, we join it again more firmly. Building models teaches us to be careful and to try again if something is not right.
