What are science process skills?
Science process skills are the ways we learn about the world around us. We use them every day to find out new things. When you look, listen and think carefully, you are being a little scientist! These skills help us ask good questions and find good answers.

We observe with our senses, classify things into groups, measure sizes, predict what may happen, and communicate what we find.
Using our senses
To observe means to use our eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. We can group, or classify, things by colour, shape or size. We can measure how long or how heavy something is with tools like a ruler. We can also predict what may happen and communicate our findings to friends.
Example
You see dark clouds and say, "It may rain soon." That is a prediction.
