Adding and subtracting together
Some money problems have both + and −. When there are no brackets, work from left to right, one step at a time.
Key idea
Do the first two amounts first, then use that answer with the next amount. Keep the decimal points lined up.

RM10.00 − RM4.00 + RM2.50
Step 1: RM10.00 − RM4.00 = RM6.00.
Step 2: RM6.00 + RM2.50 = RM8.50.
Answer: RM8.50.

You start with some money, get more, then spend some. Add what you get and subtract what you spend.
