Saving money
Saving means keeping some money for later instead of spending it all now. A good, safe place to keep savings is a bank. The bank writes your savings in a savings book (passbook).
Key idea
If you save the same amount often, add it up: save RM2 each day → in 5 days you have RM2 × 5 = RM10.
Why save?
We save to buy something we want later, or to be ready for an emergency. Saving a little often adds up to a lot.
Worked example
Mei saves RM6 every month. How much has she saved in 3 months?
RM6 × 3 = RM18.
Answer: RM18.
Investment
Investment means using money to try to earn more money later, such as putting savings in the bank to grow.
Remember
- Save first, spend later.
- Keep savings safe in a bank.
- Small savings grow big over time.
