New plants from seeds
Plants make new baby plants so their kind can live on. Most plants start life as a tiny seed. A seed is small, but a whole new plant is waiting inside it!
The flower of a plant makes the seeds. After a flower, many plants grow a fruit, and the seeds are kept safe inside the fruit.

A seed needs water, air, sunlight and soil to grow. First the root comes out, then the stem and leaves.
How seeds travel
Seeds move to new places so new plants have room to grow. They can travel in fun ways:

- Some seeds float on water.
- Animals eat fruits and drop the seeds far away.
