Chapter 3

Financial Management

Learn to plan your money: income minus expenses equals your savings.

Income, spending and savings

Income is the money you get (pocket money, gifts). Expenses is money you spend. What is left is your savings.

Key idea / 要点

Income − Expenses = Savings

Making a simple budget

A budget is a plan for your money. A good habit is to spend less than you earn and save a little every time.

Worked example / 例题

Aida gets RM50 pocket money and spends RM30.
Savings = RM50 − RM30 = RM20.
If she saves RM20 each month, after 3 months she has RM20 × 3 = RM60.

Remember / 记住

  • Save first, spend later.
  • Keep money for future needs.
  • Small savings add up over time.
