What is a themed product?
A themed product is a product designed around one main idea or topic, called a theme. A theme could be the ocean, space, animals or a festival. Every part of the product — its shape, colour and pattern — matches that theme so it looks like one clear idea.
How to design one
We still follow the design process, but we keep the theme in mind at every step:
- Choose a theme you like.
- Gather ideas that fit the theme.
- Sketch a design using matching shapes and colours.
- Make the product and test it.
- Improve any part that does not match the theme.
Key idea
In a themed product, the colours, shapes and decorations all match one chosen theme.
Example
Mei chooses an ocean theme for a pencil box. She paints it blue, adds fish stickers and shapes the lid like a wave. Every part shows the ocean, so the theme is clear.
A strong theme makes a product look neat, creative and special.
