Prehistoric sites in Malaysia
Long ago, early people lived in our land. They liked to stay in caves and near rivers, where they could find water, food and shelter. Today, archaeologists have found their remains at special places called sites.
Famous sites
- Lenggong Valley, Perak — a very important site and a UNESCO World Heritage place. Here they found Perak Man, the oldest and most complete human skeleton in Southeast Asia, about 11,000 years old.
- Kota Tampan, Perak — an old stone-tool workshop.
- Niah Caves, Sarawak — very old human bones were found here.
- Gua Cha, Kelantan — tools and burials were found.
