A long journey
After leaving Palembang, Parameswara sailed to Temasik (old Singapore). At first he was welcomed there. Later he took control and ruled Temasik for about five years.
But peace did not last. An army from Siam (the Siamese) attacked, and Parameswara had to flee. He moved north along the coast to find safety.
Searching for a home
Parameswara stopped at Muar and other places, but none felt right for a strong kingdom. At last he reached Bertam, a small village beside a river. He kept moving because he wanted a safe and good place to build his kingdom.

Parameswara travelled from Temasik to Muar and then to Bertam, always searching for a safe place to build a new kingdom.
