What is a sewn article?
A sewn article is a useful product made by joining pieces of fabric together with stitches. Handkerchiefs, pillowcases, cushion covers and simple bags are all sewn articles. Before you sew, you plan the design, choose the fabric, and think about who will use the product.
Tools and steps
You use a needle and thread to make stitches, scissors to cut fabric, a measuring tape to measure, and pins to hold pieces together first. A thimble protects your finger when you push the needle.
