Electricity flows only in a complete circuit — an unbroken path.
A simple circuit has a cell (battery), wires, a bulb and a switch. Closing the switch completes the circuit and the bulb lights up. Conductors (metals) let electricity flow; insulators (plastic, rubber) do not.
