Heat is a form of energy. Heat always flows from a hotter place to a cooler place.
Heat makes things expand (get bigger) and cooling makes them contract (get smaller). Metals are good conductors of heat; wood and plastic are poor conductors (insulators). The Sun and fire are sources of heat.
