Showing respect the right way
Etiquette means good manners and behaving in the correct way. When Negaraku is played, we must behave properly to show respect for our country and its flag. Following the right etiquette is just as important as knowing the words of the anthem.
What we should do
- Stand up straight and stay still.
- Stop what we are doing, such as talking or eating.
- Stay quiet and sing along seriously.
- Boys should remove their caps or hats.
- Keep our eyes forward and stand with respect.

When the anthem plays, we stand up straight, stay quiet and stop other activities to show respect.
What we should NOT do
We should not talk, laugh, play, sit down, or keep walking around while Negaraku is playing. Acting rudely during the anthem is disrespectful to the nation.
