Respecting our flag
The Jalur Gemilang is a proud symbol of Malaysia, so we must always treat it with respect. When the flag is raised and we sing the national anthem, Negaraku, we should stand up quietly and face the flag.
How we show respect
- Never let the flag touch the ground.
- Keep it clean; a torn or dirty flag should be replaced.
- Fly it the correct way, never upside down.
- Fly many flags in August, our National Month, to celebrate Merdeka.
Respecting the flag shows our love for the country and helps all the races live in harmony and unity.
Remember
- Stand and sing Negaraku respectfully.
- Do not let the flag touch the ground.
- Respect for the flag = love for the nation.
