The parts of the emblem
Every symbol on the Jata Negara has a meaning. In the middle is a shield held up by two tigers. The tigers stand for strength and courage.
Symbols and meanings
- Crescent — stands for Islam, the official religion.
- 14-pointed star (Bintang Persekutuan) — stands for the unity of the states.
- Yellow colour of the crescent and star — the colour of the Malay Rulers.
- Five kris on the shield — the former Unfederated Malay States.
- Hibiscus (Bunga Raya) — Malaysia's national flower.
Remember
- Two tigers = strength and courage.

- The banner reads Bersekutu Bertambah Mutu.
