Subject and Object Pronouns

Pronouns used as the doer (subject) and the receiver (object).

Subject pronouns

  • Do the action: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
  • She reads a book.

Object pronouns

  • Receive the action: me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
  • The teacher helps them.

Key idea

Subject pronouns (I, he, she) do the action; object pronouns (me, him, her) receive it.

Remember

'I' is a subject; 'me' is an object.
