Basic rule
- Singular subject → verb + -s; plural subject → base verb.
Tricky subjects
- 'Everyone/each/nobody' are singular: Everyone is here.
- Two subjects joined by 'and' are plural: Ali and Abu are here.
Key idea
Verbs must agree with the subject; indefinite words like everyone and each are singular.
Remember
'Each', 'every', 'everyone' and 'nobody' always take a singular verb.
